Job Description: The Cardiovascular Intensive Care Nurse Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of the 19-bed CVICU. The manager will advocate for and allocate resources to ensure high-quality patient care based on current standards of practice. This leadership role involves integrating clinical, human resources, and financial data to support decision-making, as well as promoting research and evidence-based practice. The manager will also contribute to the professional development of staff and help to create a supportive environment to retain and acclimate new employees.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent (ADN with MSN, BA with MSN).
- A current and valid North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license. An eNLC (Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact) license may also apply, but the licensee should confirm with the NC Board of Nursing.
- A minimum of three to five years of recent nursing experience.
- At least two years of relevant clinical hospital experience with demonstrated leadership skills.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Healthcare Provider certification.
- National Certification in a specialty area (leadership or clinical practice) within one year of accepting the role.
Preferred Skills:
- A Master’s degree in nursing.
- Previous leadership experience.
- A passion for fostering a friendly and supportive environment that encourages growth and learning for new employees.
