About Our Client

Roosevelt Talent is excited to partner with Red Frontier Industries to eliminate electricity constraints in industry by deploying solar panels at ludicrous speed. 

Based in Austin, TX, they are scaling solar infrastructure to fulfill massive power demands. This starts with their initial solar panel deployment system. 

Red Frontier's ultimate goal is to aggressively advance technology capable of unlocking gigawatt-per-day energy production across all of the world's desert regions.

The Role 

We are seeking a Founding Mechanical Engineer to take complete ownership over Red Frontier's panel deployment system. 

This system is designed to move and emplace hundreds of tons (yes you read that right) of glass and aluminum panels daily in rugged terrain. 

Based fully in-person in Austin, TX, this role will span the entire product lifecycle including design, engineering, initial fabrication, field testing, and revision. 

You will also orchestrate production alongside technicians as larger deployment sites come online. 

Qualifications & Skills

Required

• You’re a mechanical engineer who has owned a product / component / system from start to finish (design, prototyping/fabrication, testing, and production). Emphasis on OWNED. 
• You have 3+ years of demonstrated excellence in mechanical, structural, or industrial engineering. 
• You can work well in a team. 
• Mission: A deep and abiding dissatisfaction with the amount of solar power wasted as heat upon the Earth's crust.  
• You’re willing to work nights and weekends, including directly at deployment sites, as required (we have a world to power). 
• You have an ownership mentality, ie: you don’t need instructions for everything. 

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, steel frame assembly, or welding.  
• Rigorous technical education in mechanical engineering, physics, or a related discipline.  
• Prior experience with CAD software workflows, industrial robotics, or working on vehicles alongside electrical and controls engineers.
