About Our Client

Roosevelt Talent is working with ChargeScape, a joint venture formed by major automakers—including BMW, Ford, Honda, and Nissan—to connect EV drivers with power utilities using a cloud-based software platform. The platform schedules EV charging for low-carbon, grid-friendly hours, helping stabilize the power grid while returning savings to drivers. Backed by well-capitalized founding investors and key automotive partnerships with companies like Tesla and Rivian, ChargeScape operates across North America to advance sustainable energy integration.

The Role

As the Director of Business Development, you will report to the VP of Business and oversee end-to-end enterprise sales to North American electric utilities, driving new revenue from initial prospecting through contract execution. The position involves navigating complex regulatory drivers to map software solutions across utility departments like demand response, transportation electrification, and distributed energy resources. Operating cross-functionally, this role works closely with internal teams (Product, Policy, OEM Operations) and external stakeholders to shape utility programs and win major deals.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of B2B enterprise SaaS business development experience within the energy or utility sector.
  • Proven track record of exceeding quotas and closing six- and seven-figure deals, including navigating complex RFP processes.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory drivers behind utility demand-side management and transportation electrification.
  • Hands-on experience negotiating complex Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and Statements of Work (SOWs)

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience directly selling demand-side management solutions to utilities.
  • Proficiency with Hubspot CRM for pipeline management and revenue forecasting.
  • Strong technical and communication writing skills to build highly differentiated proposals using OEM partner data analytics

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary paired with performance bonus potential.
  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits package.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO).
  • Opportunity to collaborate directly with major EV automakers.

Note

[visa situation] This role requires US-Working Rights - the company is unable to sponsor visa transfers.
