About Our Client

OptiGrid helps EV fleet owners secure their charging infrastructure lightning-fast for a fraction of the cost. Their battery-integrated platform delivers fast, flexible, and grid-independent charging for fleets and beyond. As they expand into new markets, they are seeking a Product Manager to drive the development of their innovative EV charging solutions.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Manager to join as the second product hire, reporting to the Head of Product. This role will primarily focus on near-term execution, including detailed requirements, prioritization, and execution in collaboration with engineering teams. As the second PM, this role will support long-term roadmapping efforts, including market assessment, competitive benchmarking, and ideation of new products.  

This role requires someone who can deeply understand customer needs, translate them into compelling product features, and drive the successful delivery of cutting-edge solutions for EV fleet owners and beyond. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of EV charging by optimizing product offerings and ensuring a seamless user experience for our transformative solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

• 3-5 years proven experience as a Product Manager, with a strong track record of delivering successful products from ideation through delivery
• Experience with hardware development lifecycles, including firmware and software integration. Alternatively, experience with products that rely on hardware capabilities
• Customer-centric approach that focuses on developing products and features that solve real customer problems
• Data-driven, comfortable digging into the details to generate insights, and adept at storytelling with data. 
• Where robust data is lacking, be creative in gathering insights and developing a point of view 
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging with executives, engineering teams, and end-users.
• Self-starter that takes initiative and ownership, can be relied upon to deliver results 
• Familiarity with major product development frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, etc) and willingness to drive implementation of a process tailored to the company’s needs
• Experience with EVs/ EV charging or retail energy markets/ renewable energy / energy storage 



Nice to Have

• Familiarity with industry protocols (e.g., OCPP, OCPI, OpenADR, CCS, NACS, etc) and related technologies.
• Background in energy management systems, microgrids, or distributed energy resources (DERs).
• Familiarity with IoT device management, data telemetry, and cybersecurity principles for connected hardware and software systems.
• Experience with user experience (UX) design principles and working with UI/UX teams.
