Hangar Manager - Civil Base Maintenance


Phoenix Solutions & Consulting have partnered with a leading maintenance provider for civil aircraft based in Western Europe who are seeking an experienced people and engineering manager to lead civil base maintenance projects.


The Base Maintenance Manager is responsible for all Base Maintenance activities in the hangar. You will lead a team in charge of preparation, management, customer relations and invoicing, and be accountable the quality of costs and deadlines for heavy maintenance aircraft checks.


  • Participate in the ongoing optimisation of the organisations overall operations and works as part of the Management team to achieve this
  • Formulate and execute strategy to achieve the objectives assigned to you by the executive Vice president of the Airframe department.
  • Validate quotations for in-house projects with the N-1s, to ensure that quotations are competitive and draw up commercial proposals to submit them to the EVP Operation Airframe for final approval
  • Reporting on project profitability, TAT, quality and updates on the progress plan.
  • Seek out and implement measures to reduce rigidity losses.
  • Manage staffing levels in the department. Ensure that your unit is adequately staffed with suitable experienced and qualified fixed personnel to ensure the achievement of operational objectives while respecting allocated budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with current regulations and standards (EASA, Part 145, etc) and take part in resolving safety reports and quality findings for which you are responsible.
  • responsible for implementing and monitoring all operational aspects of CSMS
  • Continuously improves health and safety standards in all workplaces under his charge
  • Ensure that the responsibilities and objectives of its N-1s are clearly defined, understood and respected
  • Responsible for creating an atmosphere in which staff can be themselves, where dialogue and solutions and where mutual trust is constantly growing

Your Profile :


  • Engineering degree in aviation maintenance or equivalent through experience.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
  • Capable to manage large group of people
  • Competent to analyse, synthesize, prioritise
  • Customer oriented and service sensitivity
  • Fluent Written and Spoken English
  • IT skills (Microsoft office) and knowledge of AMOS is a plus
  • Project management skills
