Job Duties

  • Innovative Design & Concept Development: Lead the design of propulsion systems, exploring new concepts and technologies that push the boundaries of current capabilities.
  • Modeling & Simulation: Utilize advanced simulation tools to model propulsion systems' mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the fabrication, testing, and iteration of propulsion system prototypes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high performance.
  • Integration with Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate propulsion systems into larger defense platforms, ensuring seamless performance and integration.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct rigorous testing and analysis to measure system performance, validate design assumptions, and refine solutions to meet stringent benchmarks.
  • Optimization: Continuously iterate on designs to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety, ensuring systems meet high standards.
  • Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to translate designs into scalable production processes, optimizing efficiency at every stage.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure that all designs comply with industry regulations and government standards, and create comprehensive documentation for replicability and future reference.
  • Technology Integration: Stay up to date with the latest advancements in propulsion technology, incorporating cutting-edge findings into ongoing projects to drive innovation.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in propulsion systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Deep technical expertise in mechanical engineering, propulsion analysis, design, or testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to innovate in propulsion systems.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Proven track record of innovation in propulsion systems, with a focus on design, analysis, and testing.
  • Familiarity with propulsion systems used in space & defense applications, including missile defense or hypersonic technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in prototyping, testing, and manufacturing support for propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of industry and governmental standards and regulations for defense systems.

Security Clearance

  • Must be able to obtain US Secret Security Clearance.

Compensation Details

$130,000 - $180,000
