The Source and Recruit Company has been retained to support Belden Construction in the search for a Civil Construction Project Manager. All inquiries will be handled with strict confidentiality.


Position Overview

This is a unique opportunity to step into a key role as part of a thoughtful succession plan, working alongside experienced leadership and contributing to a strong pipeline of civil construction projects. The Project Manager will oversee projects ranging from $100K to $10M (with a typical project size around $5M), managing all phases from pre-construction through completion.

This role is primarily based in the Rutland, VT office, with regular field involvement (approximately 20%) and flexibility to support work-life balance. The Project Manager will play a critical role in coordinating teams, maintaining project schedules and budgets, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil construction projects from inception through completion
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project
  • Prepare estimates and manage budgets using HCSS or similar software
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Identify risks and proactively implement solutions to maintain project progress
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal team members
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project teams, including supervision of field personnel
  • Deliver regular project updates and reporting to company leadership


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in civil construction project management and estimating
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project and HCSS (or similar project management and estimating tools)
  • Strong understanding of civil construction projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site work
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both in-office and in the field as needed
