The Source and Recruit Company has been retained by Samyn-D’Elia Architects to assist in the recruitment of an Associate Architect.

Position Overview

Samyn-D’Elia Architects is seeking an Associate Architect with approximately 5–10 years of professional experience who is passionate about thoughtful design, technical excellence, and collaborative project delivery. This role is ideal for an emerging architectural professional seeking continued growth and mentorship while progressing toward licensure.

The Associate Architect will contribute across all phases of architectural projects, supporting design development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration efforts. The position offers hands-on involvement in a wide range of project types and the opportunity to work closely with experienced principals and senior team members in a highly collaborative studio environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support architectural projects through all phases including schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
• Prepare comprehensive drawing sets and assist with technical detailing and documentation
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, and internal project teams
• Participate in site visits and construction administration activities (minimal overnight travel required)
• Assist in ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and zoning regulations
• Contribute to project coordination and studio collaboration across multiple active projects
• Maintain high standards of organization, communication, and design quality
• Participate in a positive, professional, and team-oriented office culture

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional architectural experience
• Actively pursuing architectural licensure required; support available for candidates on the licensure path
• Experience working on commercial, municipal, educational, hospitality, residential, or mixed-use projects preferred
• Strong construction documentation and detailing skills
• Experience with wood frame construction preferred
• Proficiency in Revit required
• Working knowledge of SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), and Microsoft Word/Excel
• Experience with SpecLink is a plus
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Portfolio or sample drawing set will be requested during the interview process

Compensation & Benefits

Samyn-D’Elia Architects offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 – $100,000 based on experience, along with discretionary performance bonuses and profit-sharing opportunities.
