MEP Director – Raleigh, NC (New Market Expansion)
Location: Raleigh-Durham, NC
Are you a strategic leader in mechanical and plumbing construction ready to take the reins in launching a new regional office? An established and growing mechanical and plumbing contractor is seeking a MEP Director to lead its expansion into the Raleigh-Durham market.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a regional operation from the ground up—bringing leadership, client relationships, and technical excellence to a trusted name in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Leadership & Growth
- Lead the establishment and growth of the Raleigh-Durham branch, including staffing, operations, and business development
- Develop and execute a regional strategic plan aligned with company goals and culture
- Build strong client relationships and drive new project opportunities with general contractors, developers, and owners
- Represent the company in the local market, industry associations, and partner networks
Project Oversight
- Oversee plumbing and mechanical project execution—from preconstruction through completion—ensuring quality, safety, and profitability
- Provide executive oversight on budgets, schedules, manpower, and risk management
- Collaborate with estimating and project management teams to win and deliver commercial and institutional projects
Team Development
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of project managers, field supervisors, and technicians
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Promote employee development and retention through clear career pathways and ongoing training
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial mechanical/plumbing contracting
- Some residential experience would be preferred but not required
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale HVAC and plumbing projects
- Strong relationships in the North Carolina GC/developer community preferred
- Experience launching or running a satellite office or regional operation is a major plus
- Strong business acumen with a hands-on approach to leadership
- Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field preferred
