Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site operations for commercial construction projects. The Superintendent is responsible for managing field activities, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining the project schedule, and delivering superior workmanship. This individual will serve as the primary on-site leader, working closely with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and owners to drive progress and ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the on-site point of contact for all construction activities, ensuring adherence to the project schedule, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontractors and field labor.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a zero-incident jobsite.
• Lead daily field coordination meetings and communicate clearly with project teams.
• Monitor progress and adjust schedules and manpower as needed to maintain deadlines.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with local building codes and standards.
• Identify field issues and work proactively to resolve them in collaboration with project management and design teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including daily reports, logs, and as-built records.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence on the jobsite.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, safety practices, and scheduling.
• Proven ability to lead field teams and manage subcontractors effectively.
• Solid understanding of construction documents, specifications, and project plans.
• Proficient in field technology and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
• OSHA 30-hour certification required.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
