Lead Estimator – Commercial General Contractor

The Opportunity:

As a Lead Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in the preconstruction process by providing accurate cost analysis, offering valuable insights, and helping ensure project success before it ever breaks ground. You’ll be part of a collaborative, team-oriented environment where your input helps guide strategic decisions.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare detailed cost estimates based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions
  • Develop competitive bids and conceptual budgets
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment needs
  • Support project teams to align scopes, budgets, and timelines
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks
  • Monitor market pricing trends and industry shifts


Qualifications:


  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating
  • Experience with various project types: retail, office, renovations, historic preservation, multi-family, and ground-up construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Bluebeam, and On-Screen Takeoff
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications to develop cost-effective solutions
  • Excellent time management, communication, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling and risk identification
