Director of IT Application Development (start up)

As we expand our operations, we are looking for a visionary Director of IT Application Development to lead our development initiatives and manage our offshore teams.

Summary for our Director of IT Application Development: 

The Director of IT Application Development will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of application development within the organization. This role involves hands-on management of both in-house and offshore development teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet our business goals and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities for Director of IT Application Development:

• Leadership and Strategy: Provide leadership, vision, and direction to the application development teams to ensure it will contribute to the company achieving its goals.

• Project Management: Manage and oversee projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

• Team Management: Directly manage internal and offshore development teams, fostering a collaborative, productive, and innovative environment.

• Technology Solutions: Develop and implement robust application development strategies, integrating new technologies and processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.

• Quality Assurance: Ensure software deliverables meet quality standards and functional requirements through rigorous testing and validation.

• Vendor Management: Coordinate with offshore vendors to ensure compliance with contracts and successful execution of projects.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align development with user needs and business goals.

• Budget Management: Develop and manage the application development budget to maximize the return on investment.

• Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest in application development technologies and methodologies to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements for Director of IT Application Development:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in application development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing both onshore and offshore teams.

• Proven experience in managing full lifecycle software development.

• Strong technical skills in [specify relevant technologies such as TypeScript, Python, .NET, Java, SQL, etc.].

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines.

• Excellent organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

• Experience in vendor management and working with cross-cultural teams is essential.

• Experience in RPA or Automation, or AI Bot.
