Operations Manager


Location: Haverhill, Cambs

Salary: £38,000 to £45,000 per year

Reports to: Managing Director / Operations Director


A well-established and fast-growing organisation within the graphics, signage, and visual production sector is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee its operational and production activities. This senior role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of signage, interior décor, architectural film, vehicle graphics, and a range of bespoke visual solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical understanding, and the ability to optimise workflows in a fast-paced creative production environment.


Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Management

• Lead, support, and develop the operational team, promoting high performance and continuous improvement

• Oversee training, development, staffing levels, and resource planning

• Ensure compliance with company policies, HR procedures, and operational protocols

Operational Oversight

• Ensure all production activities meet strict quality, timeline, and budget expectations

• Manage production workflows and schedule equipment maintenance

• Coordinate closely with the Design and Client Solutions Manager on production planning and specifications

• Maintain a safe, compliant working environment and escalate issues promptly when needed

• Manage relationships with outsourced suppliers, installers, and manufacturing partners

• Maintain and update the work schedule, prioritising urgent or high-value tasks

• Source materials cost-effectively and ensure timely supplier and customer deliveries

Client and Supplier Engagement

• Maintain excellent customer service standards throughout the lifecycle of each project

• Attend and lead site surveys, installations, and client meetings when required

• Oversee all delivery-related activities and communication

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Support financial processes including quotations, invoicing, stock management, reporting, and credit control

• Contribute to sales and marketing initiatives including digital activity and promotional events

• Uphold brand standards and provide accurate technical guidance on materials and production techniques

• Provide cover for the Design and Client Solutions Manager when needed

• Collaborate with additional sites to maximise efficiency, capacity, and resource sharing

Strategic Coordination

• Stay informed of the latest materials, equipment, and production methods, advising on improvements

• Support the implementation of new technical solutions and best practices

• Undertake reasonable additional duties as required by management


Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

  • • Strong leadership experience with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Experience within the digital printing industry ideally but any printing industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the printing industry
  • Could suit a Team Leader looking for the next step in their career
  • • Proficiency in Google/Microsoft Office, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • • Proven initiative, adaptability, and reliability
  • • Valid UK driving licence
