Site Leader Job Summary:

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Leader to join their recycled PET (rPET) manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Operations Management, Team Leadership, Safety and Compliance, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, Budget Management, and Continuous Improvement. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in manufacturing, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

· Operations Management: Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, ensuring efficient and effective production of recycled PET materials.

· Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors, operators, and technicians, fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

· Safety and Compliance: Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Promote a strong safety culture and lead initiatives to improve workplace safety.

· Quality Control: Maintain high standards for product quality through rigorous quality control processes and continuous monitoring.

· Resource Management: Optimize the use of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and labor, to maximize productivity and minimize waste.

· Maintenance Oversight: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure all equipment operates efficiently and reliably.

· Budget Management: Prepare and manage the facility’s budget, controlling costs while achieving operational goals.

· Reporting: Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs), operational metrics, and progress toward goals to senior management.

· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains, and lead initiatives to implement these improvements.

· Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably within the plastics or recycling industry.

· Strong knowledge of recycled PET processes and technologies.

· Proven leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

· Strong understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations.

· Experience with budget preparation and financial management.

· Proficient in the use of manufacturing software and tools.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

·  Ability to troubleshoot and optimize mechanical, thermal, and chemical processes.

·  Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvements.

·  Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.

·  Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in manufacturing.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in post-consumer recycled plastics processing.

· Familiarity with ISO 9001, FDA, and food-grade rPET requirements.

· Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher).

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other process design software.
