An ambitious early-stage start-up is developing technology to simplify complex, fragmented systems within a traditional industry. Their platform is designed to improve how businesses interact with customers while streamlining operations behind the scenes.

The Role

This start-up is seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong JavaScript experience and a proven ability to deliver results independently. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and collaborating with a small contractor team, this role involves developing new platform features, managing integrations with third-party systems, and ensuring smooth database performance. It’s an ideal role for someone who thrives in dynamic, scaling environments and wants to make a tangible impact on product and process.

Key Responsibilities

• Full stack development: Build and refine front-end and back-end solutions using Node.js, Express.js, React, and Next.js (or similar).
• Systems integration: Connect the platform with third-party services to streamline data flow.
• Database optimisation: Manage and improve Firestore and PostgreSQL/SQL databases.
• Problem ownership: Take on complex engineering challenges and deliver effective solutions.
• Innovation: Research and propose new tools, frameworks, or approaches to enhance platform performance.
• Quality assurance: Implement robust testing to ensure platform reliability.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in full-stack development, ideally in integration-heavy environments.
• Expertise in Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Next.js (or similar), and Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with Firestore and PostgreSQL/SQL databases.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Firebase.
• Independent, self-starter mindset with the ability to thrive in remote, flexible settings.

Preferred:

• Start-up or early-stage company experience.
• Strong integration/API development background.
• Exposure to hospitality tech (a plus, but not essential).
