BACKGROUND


For more than 45 years, Indiana Sports Corp has been a leading civic organization advancing our community through sports. Indiana Sports Corp has played host to more than 500 national and international sporting events, including the 1987 Pan Am Games, 2012 Super Bowl, 2021 March Madness, 2022 College Football Playoff Championship Game, eight Men’s Final Fours, three Women’s Final Fours, 14 Big Ten Football Championship Games, and most recently the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend and 2024 USA Olympic Swimming Trials. These sporting events have led to more than $5 billion in direct spending in our community over that time. The Indiana Sports Corp team helps deliver each event at a high level of excellence, while driving civic pride, garnering media attention, and engaging our fans, residents, and youth.

 

SUMMARY

 

Indiana Sports Corp provides opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. ISC’s fast paced and entrepreneurial working environment offers students a rich experience within his/her assigned area; however, students are exposed to all functional areas of the company to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in a successful company. 


This events-focused fellowship provides skill development and real-world experience, while increasing knowledge of the sports industry. The fellowship will include assisting with the overall planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of Indiana Sports Corp’s hosted events. These events will include the 2025 Big Ten Men’s Football Championship, 2025 Indy Classic, and 2026 Men’s Final Four.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES


The fellowship specific tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Event operations, administration, and communication.
  • Advanced planning and onsite logistics.
  • Vendor coordination.
  • Compiling and creating after action reports for events.
  • Warehouse organization and management.
  • Event invoicing and reporting for assigned events.

 

In addition, the fellowship will provide the opportunity to assist with various Indiana Sports Corp projects. Projects include support of Indiana Sports Corp programs and events, research projects, and other responsibilities as assigned.


 COMPENSATION STRUCTURE / STIPEND


  • This position is in partnership with the McLendon Foundation and includes a stipend of $35,000; $3,500 per month, paid out bi-weekly over a 10-month period by the McLendon Foundation as a 1099 employee.
