A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to provide critical support for payroll accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, audit preparation, and financial reporting during a period of organizational transition and system planning. This is a full-time, Remote, temporary role.

LOCATION: Remote

POSITION TITLE: Senior Accountant Role

SCHEDULE: 40 hours/week

DURATION: Temporary

HOURLY RATE: $48/hr - $52/hr


Is This Your Dream Job? This role requires a seasoned accounting professional who can quickly integrate into a complex nonprofit environment and work independently with minimal supervision. 


 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong nonprofit accounting experience required.
  • Experience working in a large organization with multiple entities, funding sources, or departments.
  • NetSuite experience required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with payroll accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and audit support.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deadlines, and quickly adapt to established processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with fund accounting, intercompany transactions, and restricted net assets preferred.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Prepare and record bi-weekly payroll allocation entries and related journal entries.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including recurring and ad hoc journal entries.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank, investment, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage Salesforce-to-NetSuite reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
  • Process net asset release, revenue recognition, and other month-end close entries in NetSuite.
  • Support 403(b), Workers' Compensation, and annual audit activities by preparing schedules, reports, and audit documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting variances and reconciliation discrepancies.
  • Process payroll invoices and assist with compliance-related filings and reporting.
  • Maintain audit-ready workpapers and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
