We are currently in search of a Project Specialist for a National Association. The position is remote but must be based in the DMV area. This is a full-time, temporary position.

LOCATION: Remote (must be based in DMV area)

POSITION TITLE: Project Specialist

SCHEDULE: Full-Time (37.5 hours/week)

DURATION: Temporary (~3 months)

HOURLY RATE: $30.00–$33.00/hour


Is This Your Dream Job? The Project Specialist will work closely with internal staff, consultants, and external stakeholders. This role requires strong collaboration, responsiveness, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in public health, health administration, health education, communications, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in project, program, or grants management, preferably in a healthcare or nonprofit setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Smartsheet, Zoom, and Learning Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking projects or grant programs with multiple deliverables and deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating virtual events, webinars, or learning series preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

Administrative Support:

  • Support external advisory councils and Member Engagement Groups, including coordinating meetings, preparing documents and materials, taking meeting minutes, and developing written summaries.
  • Develop workflows and processes to track projects, activities, and deliverables across internal divisions.
  • Create and maintain databases, including contacts, project participants, and resource materials.
  • Analyze data and create summaries, graphics, and other visual presentations.
  • Support budget tracking and the timely processing of vendor contracts, invoices, and payments.

Program Support:

  • Provide administrative support for online learning communities, platforms, and related activities.
  • Assist with the development of curricula, facilitator guides, PowerPoint presentations, handouts, and training materials.
  • Support the writing, editing, and formatting of materials for learning communities and educational programs.

Maintenance:

  • Assist with collecting, documenting, and reporting program deliverables.
  • Correspond with contractors and partners as needed, including preparing letters of agreement, memos, and other communications.
  • Assist with preparing, editing, and organizing documents and manuscript references.
  • Support grant writing, reporting, deliverable tracking, and invoice monitoring.
  • Track timelines and ensure products and deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
