A mission-driven nonprofit is hiring a Tech Support Administrator. This person will provide first-level technical support for a public library environment. This role serves as the first point of contact for staff experiencing technology issues, ensuring timely resolution of technical requests while delivering exceptional customer service. This is a full-time, Hybrid, temporary role based in Queens, New York.

LOCATION: Jamaica- Queens, NY
POSITION TITLE: Tech Support Administrator
SCHEDULE: 9-5 in person during training, then Hybrid- 3 days in person- 2 days remote
DURATION: Temporary- 6 months
HOURLY RATE: $26/hr - $28/hr

Our Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years of experience in a Service Desk, Help Desk, or IT Support role.
- Experience supporting Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and Teams.
- Experience using Active Directory for password resets, account unlocks, and basic user management.
- Experience troubleshooting desktop hardware, laptops, printers, peripherals, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Experience using a Help Desk ticketing system to document, track, and resolve support requests.
- Ability to provide remote technical support and perform approved software installations.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced support environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience supporting users in a public sector, library, educational, or government environment.
- Experience working within a structured IT Service Desk or Help Desk environment.
- Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) best practices.
How You Will Spend Your Day:
- Serve as the first point of contact for Service Desk (Help Desk) requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.
- Log, document, prioritize, track, and escalate support tickets as needed.
- Provide technical support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 workstations.
- Troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, peripherals, software applications, and network connectivity issues.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook and Teams.
- Perform Active Directory password resets, account unlocks, and basic user account administration.
- Install approved software and provide remote technical support to library staff.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and support procedures.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior IT staff while ensuring timely follow-up.
- Deliver professional, courteous customer service to users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of IT equipment and related technology assets as needed.
