We are seeking a Full-Time Operations and Development Assistant for a temporary role. The Operations and Development Assistant is part of the Operations and Development Departments. This administrative position is multi-faceted and will support the whole of the organization in day-to-day operations, virtual office management, accounting, scheduling, donor database management, event support, and other administrative functions.
This is a Remote, full-time temporary role. The candidate has to be located in the DMV area.

Pay- $22/hr- $25/hr

The Operations and Development Assistant reports to both the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Development Officer.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Minimum of 2 years of professional administrative experience in bookkeeping, office management, or equivalent position with similar responsibilities;
- Previous experience in a nonprofit organization preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Zoom, Bill.com, GSuite applications, Raiser’s Edge/NXT, and Microsoft Office products preferred;
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounting principles, and experience using accounts payable software; ● Ability to respect and handle confidential information;
- High attention to detail, ability to handle and manage multiple projects and deadlines at once, and deal with competing priorities from multiple sources.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm, and an ability to handle whatever is thrown at you with confidence and a positive attitude.
How You Will Spend Your Day:
- Provide overall support and structure to the Operations and Development departments and the organization;
- Serve as liaison between Development and Operations departments; assist in processes to ensure that each department has what it needs to function at the optimal level;
- Operations
- Perform general office management functions such as document and application management, ordering supplies as needed, and maintaining vendor relationships;
- Assist as needed to coordinate, and support meetings and events throughout the organization such as, internal staff meetings, social activities, and retreats;
- Assist in agenda preparation, and with scheduling for the COO, CDO and Executive Office as needed;
- Perform and manage bookkeeping functions for the organization including accounts payable and receivable, and bank deposits;
- Monitor and conduct tracking of employee timesheets;
- Work with off-site Accountants to maintain financial records, accurate coding, and general record keeping;
- Assist in special organizational projects as they arise;
- Development
- Assist the fundraising team with administrative tasks including prospect research, maintaining donor records, and implementation of fundraising campaigns across individual and foundation revenue streams;
- Process and record all cash, check, wire, stock and online gifts in Raiser’s Edge NXT, issue timely acknowledgement letters, and track pledge payments;
- Support the creation, maintenance and updating of donor lists;
- Support donor communication tasks, including for event invitations and updates from CEO;
- Perform donor database entry, management and maintenance tasks;
- Maintain and circulate team meeting agendas and internal meeting notes;
- Support development team scheduling, often in partnership with CEO’s executive coordinator;
- Assist with development event planning;
- Other related duties as assigned.
