We are currently in search of a Development Assistant for a nonprofit organization supporting people through and beyond a cancer diagnosis in the workplace. This is a part-time, temporary position with an anticipated hourly rate of $20/hour-$24/hour commensurate on experience. The role will run through late December.


ORGANIZATION TYPE: Cancer Support Nonprofit

LOCATION: Remote (1 in person event in December located in Manhattan)

POSITION TITLE: Development Assistant

SCHEDULE: Part-time, 20 hours per week, 10:00am-3:00pm; Monday-Thursday

DURATION: Temporary, ~12 weeks

HOURLY RATE: $20.00 - $24.00


Is This Your Dream Job? The Development Assistant will support the fundraising strategy lead and collaborate with teams across the organization. This person will help coordinate events, assist with the annual fundraiser and other in-person or virtual events, and provide administrative support including scheduling, communications, and donor record management.


Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 1+ years of experience in events, fundraising, or administrative coordination (nonprofit preferred)
  • CRM/database experience strongly preferred (Salesforce, Nimble)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Outgoing, communicative, and collaborative personality
  • Willingness to attend in-person fundraising events as needed


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Supporting the development director with day-to-day development tasks
  • Coordinating with the events team to ensure sponsor timelines, deadlines, and RSVPs are managed
  • Assisting with preparation for events
  • Providing administrative support, including scheduling, communications, and follow-ups
  • Updating and managing donor/sponsor records in the CRM system (Salesforce/Nimble)
  • Supporting upcoming virtual and in-person events
