A mission-driven nonprofit is seeking an Administrative Coordinator to provide administrative, operational, and project management support. The admin assistant will support organizational operations, member engagement, and event coordination. This role will provide day-to-day administrative support while assisting with webinars, policy calls, the annual conference, and other member-focused activities. This is a full-time, Remote, temporary role based in Washington, DC.


ORGANIZATION: Public Interest Nonprofit

LOCATION: Washington, DC (Remote) (needed on-site for 4 days for conference in October)

POSITION TITLE: Administrative Coordinator

SCHEDULE: 9 am - 5 pm

DURATION: Temporary

HOURLY RATE: $20/hr - $23/hr

 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • 2–4 years of administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or membership organization.
  • Experience supporting virtual and in-person events.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Zoom, Google Workspace, and Monday.com.
  • Experience with a CRM or membership database; Novi AMS, Salesforce, or similar preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

Administrative Support

  • Manage calendars, scheduling, correspondence, and meeting logistics.
  • Maintain membership and event databases and ensure information is accurate.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and meeting materials.
  • Process invoices, track expenses, and provide basic administrative support to the finance team.

Event Coordination

  • Support planning and execution of webinars, policy calls, and the annual conference.
  • Coordinate speaker schedules, registrations, vendors, and event communications.
  • Assist with website and social media updates related to events.
  • Prepare conference materials and provide virtual and on-site event support.
  • Collect and analyze post-event evaluations.

Membership & Engagement

  • Respond to member inquiries regarding dues, benefits, invoices, and renewals.
  • Support member communications, newsletters, and outreach.
  • Maintain member contact information, listservs, Google Groups, and CRM records.
  • Track membership invoices and provide regular updates to senior staff.
