This role is ideal for an experienced executive recruiter who has operated within corporate environments and on retained search engagements, and who brings technical fluency, operational discipline, and a systems-oriented mindset. In addition to executive search, this leader may also be trusted to identify and engage highly specialized, senior-level contract talent for both commercial and government clients - often for niche, high-impact roles requiring discretion, domain depth, and an understanding of regulated or mission-critical environments.
The Opportunity
Blackmere is adding a Senior Executive Recruiter to our team to lead complex executive searches, many of which are confidential or not publicly visible. This role is ideal for an experienced executive recruiter who has operated both within corporate environments and on retained search engagements, and who brings technical fluency, operational discipline, and a systems-oriented mindset.
In addition to executing executive searches, this role contributes to improving how we work—leveraging process, data, and emerging technologies (including AI) to drive better business outcomes while maintaining a high-touch, relationship-driven approach.
What You’ll Do
- Lead full-lifecycle executive search engagements from intake through placement, onboarding, and post-placement follow-up, including highly confidential and retained searches
- Partner directly with senior stakeholders in client environments, operating comfortably within corporate recruiting functions and executive leadership teams
- Advise clients on leadership structure, role definition, and hiring strategy based on business objectives and organizational context
- Design and execute bespoke search strategies, including market mapping, competitive intelligence, and compensation analysis
- Identify, engage, and assess senior executive talent through discreet outreach, referrals, and long-term relationship cultivation
- Conduct in-depth executive interviews focused on leadership capability, strategic impact, and cultural alignment
- Serve as a confidential advisor to executive candidates, managing sensitive conversations related to career transition, compensation, and organizational dynamics
- Develop executive-level role narratives and candidate marketing materials designed to attract top leadership talent while protecting client confidentiality
- Prepare polished candidate presentation packages, including leadership summaries and assessment insights
- Manage complex offer negotiations and act as a trusted intermediary between candidates and client stakeholders
- Maintain close engagement with placed executives and clients through onboarding, transition, and first-year follow-up
- Apply systems thinking to recruiting workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and data to enhance sourcing, research, candidate engagement, and decision-making
How You’ll Contribute Internally
- Document all search activity and candidate interactions in Blackmere’s ATS with accuracy and care
- Ensure sensitive information is handled appropriately and shared only with authorized stakeholders
- Use data and reporting to inform search strategy, operational improvements, and leadership insights
- Partner with Blackmere leadership to refine recruiting operations, tools, and workflows
- Share market intelligence and leadership insights with internal recruiting and business development teams
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct
- Represent Blackmere as a brand ambassador through executive interactions, thought leadership, and industry engagement
- Ensure all work is conducted through approved Blackmere systems and complies with security and data protection requirements
What We’re Looking For

7+ years of experience in executive search, with a strong record of senior-level and executive placements
- Experience working directly within corporate or in-house executive recruiting environments, partnering closely with executive leadership teams
- Demonstrated success leading retained executive search engagements
- Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive searches with discretion and professionalism
- A strong technical recruiting foundation, ideally supporting highly technical or technology-driven organizations
- Confidence operating in commercial-sector environments with complex business needs
- A systems- and operations-oriented mindset, with experience improving recruiting processes or workflows
- Comfort leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve recruiting effectiveness and business outcomes
- Strong consultative presence, executive-level communication skills, and sound judgment
- Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with a small, senior team
