Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Database Administrator to provide infrastructure support for complex SQL Server environments and ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of critical database systems. This role is responsible for supporting database operations including high availability, disaster recovery, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades. The Database Administrator will also help maintain database standards, support critical applications, and ensure database environments remain stable, secure, and compliant with established technical standards.
Responsibilities:
· Provide ongoing database administration support for SQL Server environments supporting critical applications.
· Participate in 24/7 support activities for database systems, including troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
· Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations and processes.
· Develop and assist with implementation plans for database installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
· Monitor database environments to ensure performance, availability, and data integrity.
· Follow and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures.
· Monitor database storage utilization and manage space allocation across environments.
· Calculate storage requirements for new and existing database systems.
· Modify database management system parameters based on performance and capacity needs.
· Configure and execute database integrity checks and monitor results.
· Install database software, patches, and service packs in development and test environments.
· Support clustered database environments, replication processes, and backup systems.
· Monitor database backup processes to ensure recoverability and resolve backup issues.
· Execute scripts to create or modify database objects such as tables, views, indexes, and constraints.
· Monitor scheduled jobs and automated processes across development, test, and production environments.
· Troubleshoot database issues related to performance, connectivity, or system downtime.
· Support database defragmentation and storage optimization activities.
· Maintain and update system documentation related to database configurations and processes.
· Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to database operations and performance.
· Serve as a liaison between technical teams and external partners when necessary.
Required Skills:
· 4+ years of experience in database administration supporting SQL Server (version 2016 or newer).
· Experience implementing and supporting High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
· Experience implementing and managing Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) within SQL Server environments.
· 2+ years of experience creating, maintaining, and updating technical and system documentation.
· Experience monitoring database performance, storage, and backup processes.
· Experience supporting database replication and clustered environments.
· Strong knowledge of database security, performance tuning, and maintenance best practices.
· Experience executing SQL scripts and managing database objects.
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical teams.
Preferred Skills
· Experience supporting large enterprise database environments.
· Experience working in environments with mission-critical or Tier 1 applications.
· Experience working within structured development and infrastructure standards.
· Experience evaluating and implementing new database technologies.
· Familiarity with enterprise change management and deployment processes.
