Job Description:
We Are Seeking an experienced Senior Java Web/Database Consultant to join a core development team focused on modernizing and maintaining enterprise web applications. This role will contribute to large-scale modernization efforts, including migrating legacy front-end frameworks, transitioning databases, and deploying containerized applications within a cloud-based environment. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development expertise, deep knowledge of modern Java frameworks, and experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.
Responsibilities:
- Participate actively in team discussions, contributing to technical decisions and driving implementation forward.
- Support modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy front-end frameworks to modern Angular versions.
- Assist in database migration efforts from Oracle to PostgreSQL using custom tools and migration services such as AWS DMS.
- Develop and maintain containerized Spring Boot applications exposing RESTful APIs.
- Monitor and interpret cloud-based logs (e.g., CloudWatch) to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.
- Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and cloud deployment tools.
- Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure high-quality code through Test Driven Development (TDD), integration testing, and code reviews.
- Design and maintain relational database structures and data models.
- Implement API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI standards.
Required Skills:
· Strong experience with Java and modern Spring frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, OAuth2, JPA).
· Experience with Angular front-end development.
· Experience designing and managing relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL).
· Proficiency with responsive web design frameworks such as Bootstrap 4+.
· Experience implementing API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
· Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and integration testing.
· Experience with database migration tools such as Liquibase or Flyway.
· Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
· Experience working with GitHub, including GitFlow and pull request workflows.
· Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including ECR, ECS, S3, ALB, and CloudWatch.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience.
