Opportunity 

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller is a key partner to the executive leadership team and liaison to the private equity sponsor in the execution of the company’s strategic growth and achievement of financial goals. We are seeking a driven professional to support and improve the accounting/finance infrastructure, financially integrate add-on acquisitions, and take a hands-on approach in leading the daily operations of the department.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Serve as liaison with the private equity sponsor
  • Establish financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
  • Execute the monthly closing process
  • Motivate, develop, and manage the accounting team
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the annual capital and operating budget process in collaboration with other members of the executive team
  • Implement operational and financial metrics to drive strategic decision-making concerning expansion
  • Lead the integration of accounting functions for new acquisitions
  • Complete weekly flash/KPI dashboard
  • Help to drive financial and operating improvements
  • Support internal and external audits

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2+ years of audit at a national public accounting firm
  • 2+ years as an accounting manager/similar + hands on GL exp
  • Willing/able to be onsite in Suffolk, VA


Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA – active
  • Master’s degree in accounting/MBA
  • NetSuite
  • Project-based/percent of completion/construction accounting
  • Private equity/ M&A/acquisition integration(s)
