The Invictus Games are coming to Birmingham in 2027!

The Games are a biennial, international sporting event, bringing together members of the Armed Forces from over 20 nations. They are unique in that participants are chosen not necessarily for their sporting prowess, but because taking part helps them in their recovery journey, from injury or illness acquired through service to their country. So, the Games are a cultural celebration with Armed Forces and their families and their supporters, bringing to life what our Armed Forces do, and the sacrifices they make on our behalf, day in and day out to defend our country.

We are looking for a Chair to lead the Board that will oversee delivery of the games and its impact and legacy strategies. We are keen to speak to people who are energised by this vision, who combine huge ambition for the Games with a low ego, energetic approach. The role calls for experienced board leadership, an astute strategic sense, and close collaboration with the CEO, to oversee the delivery of the most cohesive, celebrated and sustainable event in the history of the Games, as well as a transformational impact and legacy programme.

In addition to the role of Chair, we are also looking for members for the board, including candidates who bring oversight of commercial sponsorship, contracts and partnership working, media, comms and marketing, international sports and events.
