The Opportunity

The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of farm equipment, heavy trucks, and trailers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their work, and can troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical issues.

The successful candidate will bring a strong work ethic, practical mechanical skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team when needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on farm equipment, heavy trucks, and trailers
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
• Complete preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability
• Support welding and fabrication tasks as required
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Assist with additional tasks as needed to support overall farm operations

Qualifications

• Experience servicing and maintaining equipment, trucks, and trailers
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting capabilities
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required; Class 1 considered an asset
• Red Seal certification considered an asset but not required
• Welding experience considered an asset
• Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working in a variety of conditions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Work Environment

• Full-time, year-round position
• Based on-site near Woodlands, Manitoba
• Reliable transportation required
