Position Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Accounting Specialist to support complex accounting matters, financial reporting initiatives, and finance-related projects across the organization. This role serves as a key resource in interpreting and applying accounting standards, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.


The Technical Accounting Specialist will collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Operations, and other departments to assess the accounting impact of new initiatives, system changes, and business transactions. This position combines strong technical accounting expertise with project coordination and process improvement responsibilities, requiring both analytical depth and effective communication skills.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, interpret, and apply relevant accounting standards to complex transactions and business initiatives.
  • Prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation to support accounting conclusions and policy decisions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial reporting impact of new systems, processes, or operational changes.
  • Support finance-related projects by coordinating timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
  • Assess and document the impact of projects on internal controls and the overall control environment.
  • Assist with financial reporting, including preparation of schedules, disclosures, and supporting documentation.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required analyses and responding to inquiries.
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation, system enhancements, and technology improvements within the finance function.
  • Monitor regulatory and accounting standard updates and recommend necessary policy or process adjustments.
  • Assist with internal control documentation and compliance initiatives.
  • Prepare project-related budgets, status updates, and reporting metrics as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Several years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and other relevant accounting or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with general ledger systems, financial reporting tools, and reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and audit requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred.
