Project Engineer - Heavy Civil

This position is for experienced Field Engineers with a strong background in heavy civil, marine engineering, or heavy construction, such as bridges, tunnels, and other large-scale infrastructure projects.


The role requires working onsite in central Connecticut, and the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing complex engineering tasks in demanding environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily construction activities related to marine, heavy civil, or bridge projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other engineers to ensure all technical specifications and design requirements are met.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Assist in preparing reports, proposals, and documentation for project milestones and progress updates.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure materials and equipment are delivered and utilized efficiently.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 2-5 years of experience working on large-scale projects specifically related to marine or heavy civil construction, including bridges and tunnels.
  • EIT License (Engineer in Training) is required, with the potential for advancement to a PE License.
  • A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and equipment, particularly in marine and heavy civil engineering contexts.
