POSITION SUMMARY
An upscale pastry and coffee brand seeks a General Manager to lead all day to day operations of their Santa Monica location. Seeking candidates with a depth of experience in full 360 operations (from the front counter to the back kitchen) in a scratch kitchen environment. Must have a hospitality mindset, be entrepreneurial in approach, and be passionate about creating great experiences with food and above and beyond service.
As a General Manager, you are responsible for the overall health and positive growth of the team and the store, providing an excellent internal and external customer experience by the successful achievement of the essential responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Create and maintain a safe, positive, and team-oriented culture
- Hire, Train and Retain: build a full and highly productive team who positively contribute to the brand's culture and growth
- Build a leadership pipeline through ongoing coaching and development, preparing your team for leadership opportunities
- Manage the work schedule by creating an appropriate scheduled, filled with adequately trained and skilled team members
- Build a people bench in order to be prepared for turnover, call outs and vacation so that you can maintain the appropriate schedule
- Control operation costs according to targets set forth (labor, food, store maintenance)
- Achieve monthly and yearly sales growth according to targets
- Maintain a clean store at all times
- Oversee that the pastry display is full of high-quality & fresh product at all times
- Provide an excellent guest experience that is warm and welcoming, positive music vibe and appropriate volume level, positive energy, product sampling, clean and full display, clean store and uniforms, friendly interactions from start to finish, fresh great looking and great tasting product
- Provide an excellent team member experience
- Welcoming, safe, positive, and fun work environment. Clearly communicate expectations and growth opportunities, provide honest feedback with consistent accountability, give recognition, plan team bonding activities, and celebrate small and large wins
- Complete various administrative responsibilities timely and adequately according to company standards
- Recruiting, Onboarding, Orientation, Training, Ordering, Invoices, Payroll, Scheduling, Time Audits, Separations, Workers Comp Claims
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of Restaurant Manager Experience in a fast-paced and high-volume restaurant or bakery, managing a team of 25-50 team members
- Recruiting, Onboarding, and Off-boarding experience
- Passion for creating memorable moments of hospitality for guests and employees
- Experience in training and developing a leadership team
- Experience with analyzing P&L reports
- Quality Control
- Inventory Control
- Identifying sales growth opportunities
