Senior Data Scientist

Type: Full Time - Direct Hire

Location: Remote or Jersey City, New Jersey preferred

The Senior Data Scientist will lead the design/development of ML and generative AI models that enhance our clients platform. You will work across different teams, working closely with cybersecurity engineers, product managers, and developers to innovate architecture, assess risks, and automate threat intelligence. This is a hands-on, and highly strategic role that requires both technical expertise and product insight.

Key Responsibilities

• Design/implement ML and NLP models, t pattern recognition, and AI automation
• Build/evaluate generative AI models (LLMs or RAG pipelines) to automate threat model generation and risk recommendations
• Work with product and engineering to align AI solutions with customer needs
• Conduct data discovery, tackle large security and architecture datasets, and ensure data quality
• Lead experiments, performance tuning, and model deployment
• Create reusable components and contribute to internal AI frameworks and libraries
• Interpret/communicate complex data science results to non-technical stakeholders
• Mentor junior data scientists and help define the future AI roadmap

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of data science, machine learning, or AI development
• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong background in NLP, LLMs (OpenAI, Cohere, Anthropic), and transformer architectures
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face)
• Deep understanding of model evaluation, bias/fairness, data preprocessing, and statistical analysis
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerized model deployment such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience working with graph based models, threat intelligence, or security ontologies is a strong plus

Preferred Qualifications

• MLOps tools (MLflow, Vertex AI, SageMaker)
• Understanding of threat modeling
• Background in building SaaS AI solutions
• Publications, open-source contributions, or patents in AI or security
