Our client was founded over 27 years ago by technologists to build the fastest, high-frequency trading platform in the world. Based in New York City, with a footprint in eleven major metros globally. We are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to be a part of a growing team in the New York City area that is focused on developing the next-generation, world-class, high-frequency trading platform and our client’s internal infrastructure.
You Will:
- Assist in designing and supporting HPC and storage systems on-premises and in cloud clusters (GCP)
- Help troubleshoot issues related to OS, storage, network, and other infrastructure components, in collaboration with other infrastructure teams.
- Enhance the research infrastructure by exploring and deploying new technologies and methodologies.
- Support management of diverse compute capabilities, including CPU and GPU
- Work directly with trading teams to provide a fully-integrated research platform for the company.
You Have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
- At least four (4) years of relevant work experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and DevOps technologies.
- Expertise with distributed filesystems such as NFS, Weka, and GPFS in a production environment.
- Experience with job schedulers such as HTCondor, Slurm, and Ray
- A background in multi-cloud environments with cloud providers such as GCP or AWS
- Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., TCP/IP protocol stack, Ethernet)
- Production experience with Linux kernel concepts (e.g., virtual memory, filesystems, CPU scheduling) and Linux at the CLI
- Programming/scripting experience with languages such as Python, Perl, Shell
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interest in tracking hardware/software technology trends
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work a hybrid schedule, being onsite in their NYC office three days a week
