Technical Writer Specialist

STEMBoard is seeking a Technical Writer to provide technical writing and editing expertise. The role requires at least 5 years of writing or 3-5 years editing experience. The technical writer will function independently and be task driven as a member of a team. Technical writers must adhere to Government Printing Office Style Manual, Federal policies & guides, and continuity procedures.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Drafting and editing publications to be included in Joint Nuclear Weapons Publications System (JNWPS)
  • Providing draft publications for the comment and review process, consolidating comments, and final product review processes
  • Assisting in the resolution of issues with the JNWPS content
  • Working closely with JNWPS management in the completion of work assignments
  • Providing project officer(s) the necessary assistance during the comment and review, consolidating comments, and final product review processes
  • Creating and providing in house documentation such as checklists, various logs (e.g., SIPR, DIAMONDS, and Customer Conversation logs), and quality assurance checks
  • Uploading technical publications in DIAMONDS
  • Preparing, reproducing, distributing, and tracking media products
  • Interfacing and coordinating with JNWPS counterparts at organizations within and outside DTRA
  • Initiating and updating references and “How to...” materials; documenting conversations when requested
  • Submit trouble tickets when required/requested


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of technical writing and editing experience.
  • Must be detail oriented, reliable, dependable, and highly organized.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance.
