Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to assist with disaster recovery claims operations. This role is responsible for case intake, data entry, document control, and supporting the overall administrative workflow. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in administrative functions, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interpret and apply federal policy and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform case intake and manage claimant data entry into claims management systems.
  • Maintain accurate and organized document control, including records management and correspondence tracking.
  • Interpret and apply federal policies, regulations, and guidance to ensure administrative compliance.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to claimants, FEMA staff, and other stakeholders.
  • Support data reporting, workload balancing, and time management across the team.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of administrative documents and internal tracking systems.
  • Use administrative and claims management software to facilitate efficient processing and communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in administrative roles, including customer service, data entry, document development, correspondence, and records management.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Administrative Knowledge: Proficiency in administrative operations, including time and workload management, data tracking, and document control.
  • Policy Interpretation: Ability to understand and apply complex federal policy language and guidance.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain administrative processes and policy requirements clearly.
  • Technology Proficiency: Skilled in using administrative software, claims management systems, databases, and digital tools.
