At Thrive Colorado, we are passionate about one thing—jobs that change lives. We train and coach job seekers to overcome barriers, secure meaningful employment, and achieve lasting economic stability. Our job search training is delivered on-demand through our learning platform, giving participants flexibility and access to practical, real-world skills. Graduates of our workshop become eligible for ongoing coaching—meeting weekly in a small group with two volunteer coaches for up to four months—building community, accountability, and momentum toward long-term success.

The Position
Thrive’s cohort coaching model—led by dedicated volunteer coaches—is at the very heart of our program’s success. The Coaching Program Director is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping, strengthening, and scaling this critical element of our mission. This position oversees the entire volunteer coaching program, from strategic recruitment and onboarding to mentorship, training, and performance measurement.
The Director will be both a visionary and a hands-on leader—able to cultivate high-level relationships with long-term, committed volunteers while ensuring operational excellence and measurable outcomes. This is a role for someone who is deeply relational, highly organized, detail-focused, and passionate about equipping others to serve with excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Training
- Develop and implement a high-impact process for volunteer outreach, recruitment, and vetting that aligns with Thrive’s mission and culture.
- Design and deliver engaging, effective training and onboarding experiences to ensure coaches are fully equipped for their roles.
Managing & Leading
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Lead Group Coaches as they guide their co-coaches and cohort members.
- Maintain consistent communication with all volunteers, providing updates, feedback, and ongoing encouragement to create a positive and engaging volunteer culture.
- Identify and prepare new Lead Group Coaches to step into leadership roles.
- Ensure accurate participant progress tracking through Salesforce, maintaining program accountability and data integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement processes to ensure coaching methods remain current, effective, and impactful.
- Coordinate coach connection and appreciation events 2–3 times per year to strengthen community and retention.
Reporting
- Utilize Salesforce to track program metrics, measure impact, and inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and monitor program budgets, manage expenditures, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports to the Executive Director, Board, and donors, highlighting outcomes, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Ability to anticipate future needs and develop innovative strategies for volunteer engagement.
- Self-starter with a “can do” attitude, attention to detail, initiative, and follow-through.
- Ability to motivate and inspire volunteers, fostering a positive and productive environment.
- Demonstrated communication, networking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Internet research, Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and ability to learn other applications as needed.
- Comfortable working with a diverse population of executive-level volunteer coaches, job seekers, colleagues, and partners in the community.

Salary & Benefits
- $65,000–$75,000 based on experience
