ZSL is entering a pivotal new chapter and we’re seeking a senior people leader to help shape our future.


You will lead people, culture, governance and safeguarding at one of the world’s most respected conservation charities. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Board of Trustees, this is a role with real influence — and real purpose.


You will define and deliver a long-term people and culture strategy that enables ZSL’s mission to restore wildlife in the UK and globally. From organisational design and workforce planning to inclusion, wellbeing and employee relations, you will ensure colleagues are supported and empowered to perform at their best. Leading a high-performing People, Governance and Safeguarding function, you will be a visible, values-led leader and trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team.


Strong governance is central to this role. You will help channel the energy of the Board and colleagues to strengthen accountability, support wellbeing, maintain a culture of safety and responsibility, and ensure the organisation works as one towards our shared vision: a world where wildlife thrives.


ZSL’s impact depends on its people. This role will ensure talent is developed, supported and able to thrive, while shaping the culture and structures that allow everyone to succeed.
