Founded in 1895, the National Trust protects and cares for places so people and nature can thrive. We look after hundreds of houses and close to a million objects along with vast areas of coastline, countryside and green spaces across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, for everyone’s benefit. With our staff, members, volunteers and supporters, the Trust is the biggest conservation charity in Europe. Everyone can get involved; everyone can make a difference.
The Investment Committee is appointed by the National Trust’s Board of Trustees. It comprises members of the Board of Trustees and at least two other members appointed by the Board. The Committee sets and oversees the investment strategy for the Trust’s £1.5bn investment portfolio which is managed on a total return basis. It is responsible for recommending to the Board an appropriate investment policy statement and advising the Board on the appointment of external investment managers and monitoring performance on a quarterly basis.
In our search for the next Chair of this important Committee, we are looking to appoint someone who will provide significant strategic investment leadership and objective advice to support the Board, contributing to the long-term financial sustainability of the National Trust. What matters is the ability to bring a strategic lens, and to help us represent the breadth of communities we serve.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, we hope you will be inspired to apply.
