Alstede Farms a family-run farm started in 1982 is seeking a Sr. Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic-Level A to join their team in their Chester, NJ location.
The Sr. Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic-Level A is a senior-level hybrid fleet technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining trucks, tractors, and a wide range of agricultural equipment. The Sr. Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic-Level A plays a critical role in ensuring the farm fleet operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate has advanced mechanical knowledge, strong diagnostic skills, supervisory experience and enjoys working on a variety of machines including trucks, tractors and various farm equipment.

Sr. Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic-Level A responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on trucks, tractors, and agricultural equipment
- Perform advanced repairs on diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, drivetrains, braking systems, and steering systems
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and PTO systems
- Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections for trucks, tractors and various farm machines
- Utilize diagnostic software and electronic service tools
- Rebuild engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components as needed
- Maintain service records and document all repairs accurately
- Respond to immediate and emergency repairs
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards
- Mentor, assist and supervise junior mechanics as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
Sr. Truck and Farm Equipment Mechanic-Level A Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in trucks, tractors, heavy equipment and/or agricultural equipment repair
- Advanced knowledge of diesel engine systems
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate diagnostic software and scan tools
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work longer weeks during the growing season of April-November
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
