Supervisory Principal

Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000 base salary, depending on experience.


Overview

Lupton Partners is recruiting for a Supervisory Principal on behalf of our client, a Dallas-based Broker-Dealer with nearly 200 advisors and over $20 billion in assets under management (AUM). The firm is dedicated to supporting advisors in growing their practices while ensuring best-in-class client service.

This role plays a crucial part in maintaining compliance by supervising the suitability of securities transactions and conducting principal review functions for an assigned group of representatives. Responsibilities include overseeing advisors on heightened supervision and managing off-platform accounts to ensure regulatory adherence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Oversight: Conduct principal review of approximately 45 registered representatives' securities activities, including brokerage, advisory, annuity, and alternative investment accounts.
  • Trade Supervision: Review securities trades and resolve flagged transactions to ensure suitability and compliance.
  • Communications & Advertising Review: Supervise and approve written correspondence, electronic communications, social media, and advertising materials for assigned representatives.
  • Supervision of Non-Registered Personnel: Oversee activities of non-registered associated persons.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure timely completion of all principal review functions, including trade, email, and correspondence reviews.
  • Heightened Supervision & Off-Platform Accounts: Manage supervision of representatives under special compliance scrutiny or with off-platform accounts.
  • Audit & Compliance Follow-Ups: Address compliance issues, including policy acknowledgments, audit findings, and surveillance inquiries.
  • Training & Onboarding: Onboard and train new representatives to ensure smooth transitions and regulatory compliance.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with FINRA, SEC, and state regulations in alignment with the firm’s Written Supervisory Procedures.
  • Industry Engagement: Maintain professional expertise through ongoing education, networking, and industry involvement.
  • Client & Internal Service Excellence: Deliver a gold-standard experience to both internal teams and external clients.

Qualifications


Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a broker-dealer or investment adviser environment.
  • 2+ years in a compliance or supervisory role is a plus.


Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong regulatory compliance knowledge, including FINRA, SEC, and state regulations.
  • Expertise in securities products, such as equities, mutual funds, annuities, and alternative investments.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address regulatory concerns.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with representatives and internal teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Sound decision-making skills regarding regulatory and supervisory matters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Series 7
  • Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65)
  • Series 24
  • Series 4 and 53 (preferred but not required)
  • Series 9 and 10 (preferred but do not replace Series 24)
  • Life & Health Insurance License (a plus)
