Hands-On Leadership Role

Brisbane Based Opportunity

We’re seeking a capable and motivated Leading Hand to join our client's site team on upcoming projects. You’ll play a key role in coordinating day-to-day site activities, supervising trades, and maintaining productivity, quality, and safety on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate trades, subcontractors, and labourers on site.
• Support the Foreman and Site Manager in achieving daily and weekly production targets.
• Read and interpret construction drawings to ensure works are completed to specification.
• Oversee workmanship quality, finishes, and site presentation.
• Monitor safety and environmental compliance; conduct pre-starts and toolbox talks when required.
• Assist with planning upcoming works, sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Maintain communication between trades and site management to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Step up into supervisory duties when required.

About You

• Trade qualification in Carpentry or relevant construction field.
• Proven experience as a Leading Hand or experienced Carpenter ready to take the next step.
• Sound knowledge of commercial construction processes, standards, and tolerances.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a hands-on attitude.
• Ability to read drawings, plan ahead, and problem-solve on site.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Current Construction White Card; additional tickets (EWP, Working at Heights, First Aid) advantageous.
