Job Title: Mechanical Drafter/Designer II
Responsibilities:
Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
Develop technical drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 to ensure proper part functionality and manufacturability.
Design and optimize components for casting and machining processes, considering material properties and manufacturing constraints.
Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and implement necessary changes to drawings, models, and BOMs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including drawings, models, and BOMs.
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit and function of assembled components.
Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to resolve design issues and ensure seamless product development.
Assist in prototyping and testing of designed components and assemblies.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and standards
Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical drafting and design.
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
Expert proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
Strong understanding and practical application of ASME Y14 standards and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Extensive experience designing components for casting and machining processes.
Ability to evaluate and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
Proficiency in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with SolidWorks PDM/Manage, Microsoft Suite.
Experience in the oil and gas industry a plus.
· Knowledge of ASME, API and DIN a plus.
