Job Title: Mechanical Drafter/Designer II

Responsibilities:

• Create and modify detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop technical drawings in accordance with ASME Y14 standards, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 to ensure proper part functionality and manufacturability.
• Design and optimize components for casting and machining processes, considering material properties and manufacturing constraints.
• Evaluate Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and implement necessary changes to drawings, models, and BOMs.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including drawings, models, and BOMs.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit and function of assembled components.
• Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to resolve design issues and ensure seamless product development.
• Assist in prototyping and testing of designed components and assemblies.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes and standards
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical drafting and design.
• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Expert proficiency in SolidWorks 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Strong understanding and practical application of ASME Y14 standards and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Extensive experience designing components for casting and machining processes.
• Ability to evaluate and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs).
• Proficiency in creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Ability to perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with SolidWorks PDM/Manage, Microsoft Suite.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry a plus.
