What’s the role all about?

As the Machining Team Leader, you’ll oversee daily operations across the CNC machining department on a Double Day Shift, ensuring production targets, quality and safety standards are consistently met.

You’ll lead, coach and develop a team of machinists, while helping to solve technical problems and improve processes across the shop floor.


You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading a team of CNC Machinists across the Double Day Shift
  • Organising daily workloads to meet customer demand and delivery schedules
  • Providing technical support on set-ups, tooling and machining issues
  • Ensuring production output, efficiency and quality are achieved
  • Supporting training, performance reviews and team development
  • Monitoring KPIs such as downtime, scrap and throughput
  • Working with Quality, Maintenance and Planning teams to resolve issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives


This is a practical leadership role where you’ll be visible on the shop floor and directly involved in helping the team perform at their best.


What you’ll need

To be successful as a Machining Team Leader, you’ll bring:

  • CNC machining experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of CNC equipment (Mazak, Haas, or similar)
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring tools
  • Good understanding of Lean, 5S and CI practices
  • A hands-on leadership style and a positive approach to problem-solving
