Summary: This is a role for a seasoned Product Design leader to oversee the consolidation of multiple product streams under one unified roof. The ideal candidate has managed managers, has proven stakeholder management skills, has overseen the creation of complex products at a massive scale, and has regulated industry experience (financial, insurance, healthcare, HR/HCM, real estate, etc.)

About the role:
They’re building the next generation of innovative digital products in the insurance industry, and are looking for an energetic, proactive Senior Director of Product Design to lead the charge of a broad portfolio of high visibility “Value Streams”, aka their different business units.
They’re looking for a dedicated design leader with 15+ years of experience, preferably with some experience in financial services, InsureTech, or a highly regulated industry. Their ideal candidate has a track record of managing managers and overseeing design orgs of ~10-15 designers. Experience with managing external partners and agencies is also a big plus.
As Senior Director, you’ll manage a team of 2 - 4 Directors of Product Design, who are either ICs or manage small teams. You’ll oversee the end-to-end design of digital products in different Value Streams, notably Purchase Experience (application, account opening) and Service Experience (customer- and agent-facing policy and account servicing).
You’ll be executing a strategic vision, as well as building and joining a portfolio of digital products used by consumers and agents into one seamless, intuitive experience.
You’ll be collaborating extensively to not only craft individual tech-forward, user-centered digital product experiences, but also to connect end-to-end digital experiences and other multi-channel experiences within and across the Value Streams for customers and agents. This leadership position has a tremendous impact on the overall business and plays a crucial role in their entire ecosystem.
You’ll also have a key role in helping the company grow and mature their digital product design capabilities including evolving processes, establishing professional growth and advancement pathways, nurturing a design culture, providing coaching and mentorship, and advocating for the value of Design with a capital D in the organization.

A portfolio is required - ideally with case studies demonstrating experience in at least one highly regulated industry, like InsureTech, Financial Services, Healthcare, HR/HCM, Real Estate, etc.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000 base + annual bonus + long term incentives
