TELE-Mammo/Breast Imaging Radiologist OPPORTUNITY | Outpatient Imaging


MedAtlantic Healthcare Solutions is looking for a Tele-Mammo/Breast Radiologist for a full-time opportunity to join an established group that we have partnered with since 2019.


Required licenses:


  • Most Preferred: FL License + GA License
  • 2nd Most Preferred: FL + "Primary residency program" completed in a Compact State (listed below in BOLD), if no GA license
  • Not preferred but would entertain for the right candidate: FL license with a "Primary Residency Program" completed in FL


Compact states include AZ, CO, DC, DE, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, OK, KS, KY, ME, MI, MN, MS, MT, ND, NE, NH, NJ, NV, MD, OH, OK, SD, TN, TX, UT, WA, WI, WY


Opportunity Details:

  • Type of Reads:
  • All studies are from out-patient imaging centers (no ER & no inpatient reads).
  • All studies are pre-templated by a clinical team. 
  • Approximately 70 studies/day mixed modality.
  • Mix: Breast MRI, US, Mammo


If 70 studies per day, a standard breast imaging mix would be: 


  • 65 Mammo / Associated Ultrasound (if applicable) 
  • Up to 5 Breast MRI 


If 100 studies per day, a standard mix would be: 

  • 95 Mammo / Associated Ultrasound (if applicable) 
  • Up to 5 Breast MRI


  • Equipment:
  • Workstation provided as well as 24/7 IT and Operations support. In-house credentialing

  • Schedule:
  • Shift Time: (Negotiable, Days or Swing)
  • Mon-Sun | 3-5 Weekdays a week | Tele-Mammo Radiologist
  • Main focus is to complete at least 350 cases per week
  • No nights, No weekends, Flexibility of what days
  • Option to work additional shifts remotely via teleradiology for extra income


Schedule Examples of Current Rads to Choose From:


  1. Example #1: Early AM, approximately 6am-11am; occasional weekend work if minimum reads for the week has not been accomplished. 
  2. Example #2: Periodic daytime hours at their leisure until they finish their list of 70 minimum studies per day.
  3. Example #3: Standard daytime hours, approximately 9am-4pm, 4 days a week with reading a minimum of 70 studies at their leisure over the weekend. 
  • Note: With Mammo, the hours worked is much less important than the overall productivity.
  • Candidate would need steady productivity (70/day) at least 3 business days a week with total number of reads Monday-Sunday minimum total of 350 reads for the week. 


  • Employment Type:
  • Choose W2 with Benefits (80/20) -OR- 1099
  • 1 FTE - 1.5 FTE Need


  • Compensation:
  • Reimbursement is on a per-click model.
  • Readers who average about 70 cases a day are earning $45-55k/month.
  • Shift Bonuses available: $500-1k/week


Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: Board Certified


Common Questions:

  • In one shift, what percentage of the shift is Mammo diags -versus- screeners?
  • Diagnostics tend to be 10% of the mix but fluctuate. In > 90% of cases, diagnostics are assigned to the Radiologist who recalled the patient, so most Radiologists mix of diagnostics approximates their own personal recall rate, which is typically in the 8-12% range. 
  • What are the shift hours?
  • Here are some examples of current Radiologists that are considered fulltime producers, but their hours are not traditional full time:
