Service Manager
Under the supervision of the Branch Manager the Service Manager provides leadership to the service department to meet company goals through productive staffing, customer retention, mechanic/technician training, and quality workmanship while improving productivity, reducing costs, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and providing excellent customer service.
Specific Responsibilities
- Overseeing the daily operations of the service department.
- Serve as principal interface with customers regarding services including provision of estimates, addressing customer concerns and complaints.
- Providing expert advice for technical repairs and customer service.
- Prioritize all work orders, assign work orders to technicians/mechanics.
- Oversee and assist the service clerk in the invoicing process and explanation of work to the customer.
- Play a role in the accounts receivable process.
- Supervision of staff while creating and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Hire, retain, and ensure proper training of staff.
- Provide effective feedback on staff performance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience
- Ideally we are looking for individuals with 5+ years of related work experience (heavy Equipment preferred).
- Strong background in service and be able to lead and organize a service team as well as handle the daily operations in a busy branch environment.
- Computer skills (MS Office) and systems knowledge.
- Experience in the forestry and construction industry would be considered an asset.
- Sound mechanical knowledge.
- Ability to work in an environment of changing priorities.
- Ability to work 40 + hours per week.
- Bilingual (French/English).
