Vale Group has partnered with a leading orthotic and prosthetic care provider in the Jacksonville, FL area to identify a Florida-licensed Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO). This is a hands-on clinical role working under the guidance of the Practice Manager/Senior CPO, offering strong clinic-level autonomy and exposure to a diverse patient population including trauma, pediatric, and neurological cases. Requirements:
- Active Florida license as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)
- ABC Certification required
- Any level of experience as a practicing CPO will be considered
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and patient care practices
- Ability to perform physical assessments and apply clinical best practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology and aseptic techniques
- Ability to perform all duties within the established scope of practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients through examination, interview, and measurement to determine orthotic and prosthetic needs
- Design, fit, and adjust orthotic and prosthetic devices to ensure optimal function and patient comfort
- Educate patients on proper use, care, and maintenance of devices
- Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and device specifications
- Cast patients and modify molds for fabrication purposes
- Select appropriate materials and components based on device design
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Repair, modify, and rebuild orthotic and prosthetic devices as needed
- Fabricate devices or oversee fabrication processes
- Participate in a structured on-call rotation, including hospital calls
- Mentor and support Orthotic Fitters and junior staff
- Address and resolve complex patient concerns and clinical issues
This position will evolve to include participation in an after-hours on-call schedule as part of the organization’s long-term operational strategy.
