Overview

We are seeking a ServiceNow Architect to serve as the strategic and technical leader of the enterprise ServiceNow platform. This is a hybrid role combining long-term platform architecture, governance, and hands-on technical leadership, ensuring ServiceNow remains a scalable, secure, and high-performing platform aligned to evolving business needs.

This individual will define the platform vision and roadmap while leading solution design, development, and delivery across multiple ServiceNow modules.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and own the enterprise ServiceNow architecture, roadmap, and governance model
  • Establish design standards, guardrails, and best practices aligned to enterprise architecture and security
  • Lead architectural decisions across ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, and other modules
  • Drive adoption of out-of-the-box capabilities and minimize unnecessary customization

Technical Leadership & Delivery

  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs and implementation plans
  • Lead hands-on configuration, development, workflow automation, and integrations
  • Conduct design/code reviews and ensure high-quality, upgrade-safe solutions
  • Act as the primary escalation point for platform-related technical issues

Integration & Data Oversight

  • Design and oversee integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, MID Server, and enterprise middleware
  • Ensure data integrity and alignment with CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping strategies
  • Enforce security, data, and architectural standards across integrations

Governance & Platform Optimization

  • Establish development standards, release governance, and code quality processes
  • Reduce technical debt and ensure platform scalability, stability, and upgrade readiness
  • Govern vendor deliverables, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product owners, business analysts, enterprise architects, and stakeholders
  • Align ServiceNow initiatives with business priorities and enterprise strategy
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead and mentor developers, administrators, and delivery teams
  • Drive engineering excellence, platform reliability, and continuous improvement
  • Influence operating models, delivery processes, and team standards

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of ServiceNow experience, including architecture and solution design
  • Strong expertise in ITSM (required) and additional modules such as ITOM, CSM, or HRSD
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow development (JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer)
  • Experience with integrations (REST/SOAP, IntegrationHub) and CMDB/Discovery
  • Strong understanding of ITIL and enterprise architecture principles

Preferred

  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS, CTA preferred)
  • Experience in cloud environments (Azure/AWS) and Agile delivery models
