Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a General Ledger Accountant opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN for the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex.

 

Project Description:

 

UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provide enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.

 

The UPF project works on a 4/10 schedule. Start times are flexible, but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

 

Position Summary:

Based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee this position reports to the Controller Services Manager to perform moderately complex tasks associated with general accounting responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities for this position include account analysis and reconciliation, preparation of standard finance reports, verify accuracy and conformance of reporting documents, analysis of financial information, complete corrective account actions and perform ad-hoc financial data analysis and reconciliations.

 

Required Qualifications:

·       A bachelor's and minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or 7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.

·       Able to work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

·       Must have knowledge of professional accounting and/or financial concepts and principles.

·       Working knowledge of computer systems, Microsoft Office, and software operations as applied to accounting and related functions.

·       Self-motivated and able to work under pressure, focus on details and provide extra effort to meet priorities and deadlines with minimum supervision.

·       Requires knowledge of U.S. government Federal Acquisition Regulations and Cost Accounting Standards.

·       Must be a US Citizen.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Advanced organizational skills with the ability to function in a matrix organization and simultaneously handle numerous tasks of varying degrees of complexity.

·       Able to work independently or as part of a team and use good judgement in the execution of assigned tasks including the ability to seek direction as needed.

·       Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

·       Prior Oracle Financials experience and proficiency with MS Office Suite.

·       Working knowledge of accounting systems, organizations and procedures.
