Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Structural Engineer opportunity in Lenior City, TN.

 

Job Description:

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing high quality detailed design packages
  • Provide design output documentation to support construction and facility modifications
  • Providing engineering procurement and field technical support to implement designs
  • Providing expertise for troubleshooting and technical assessments of plant facilities
  • Preparation of conceptual engineering deliverables such as cost-estimating bills of material and man-hour estimates, statements of work, design criteria, and design engineering deliverables
  • Identifying and evaluating project issues and problems recommending and implementing solutions
  • Preparing engineering specifications for components/equipment to meet design criteria
  • Utilizing vendor data and working with personnel from other disciplines, as required, for performance of designs
  • Reviewing, compiling, and documenting all input/outputs for design modifications
  • Evaluating operations and proposed modifications to determine compliance with engineering discipline codes and standards and other applicable regulations as well as project/company policy

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited school
  • 3-20 years of structural engineering experience
  • Technical expertise and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field of Structural Engineering
  • Structural modelling experience with STAAD
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients, subcontractors, management, and support organizations.
  • Proficient with developing structural drawings (plans, sections and details) for various materials of construction (concrete, steel, masonry, cold-formed steel, timber), structural calculations, equipment anchorage, report preparation, drafting (or oversight of drafting), and preparation of construction specifications (generally in the form of general notes on the drawings)
  • PE preferred.
  • Ability to obtain DOE Q Clearance
